NOLITA DIARIES: CAFE GITANE

Planet Botkier July 09, 2010

Nestled on the corner of Prince and Mott, just a few doors down from our Nolita store, is one of our favorite spots in New York City, Café Gitane. The light French-Moroccan dishes, fresh watermelon juice, and great wines and apartifs make for a wonderful summer meal, while at the same time the always fashion-forward regulars that populate this joint is great for people watching; even the waitresses are dressed to the nines.

Sunday brunches can be enjoyed inside the light-filled dining area, where the soundtrack of the open kitchen clinks away and keeps up the lively spirit. For the most delightful experience,  ask for a seat at one of their sidewalk tables. Although for a prime spot, we recommend coming a bit early as the wait time can be up to 45 minutes long!
