INTO THE ARCHIVES: ON CROSBY STREET

Planet Botkier February 02, 2011

Nestled between busy Broadway and Lafayette, Crosby Street charms  the city dweller with understated cool. Lined in cobblestone and a quaint enclave from the SoHo hustle and bustle, it is home to artists and ateliers who took a liking to the industrial appeal of the rows of cast iron buildings. Our business began on Crosby Street, and it wasn’t long until it inspired a bag. Today we’re looking back at the Crosby North South Satchel from our Fall 2006 collection. Its subtle shape and carefully worn in leather made it a Botkier favorite. It’s all in the details – the zipper pulls were adorned with metallic tassels.  Though we’ve grown up a bit and recently moved into a new office, we’ll always carry a certain nostalgia for Crosby Street, and the bag it inspired.
