Waterfall Braid:

1. Take a small section at the front hairline and divide into three parts as you would do for a regular braid. Prepare to go diagonally around one side of the head, as opposed to straight back down the center of the head. 2. Start to braid normally by pulling section 1 (closest to the middle of the head) across section 2 (the middle strand). 3. Now pull section 3 (the one closest to the face) across strand 2 like a normal braid. 4. Continue to braid normally, pulling the piece closest to the middle of your head and folding over. 5. Now let section 3 fall with the rest of the hair. 6. Pick up another section, preferably right underneath where you are braiding, to replace the one you let fall. 7. Fold the new piece over section 2. 8. Continue the braid by picking another piece at the middle of the head, adding to section 1 and folding over. 9. Continue to braid around the head this way – letting the piece closest to your face fall and picking up a new piece. Continue around the head as far as you’d like and then pin or tie the braid securely. What do you think? Will you try the waterfall braid?

Milkmaid:

1. Start by dividing your hair into two sections. Braid the first section all the way down to the end. 2. Bring the braid over your head, covering your ear. 3. Secure the braid in place with bobby pins. Use four to five per braid. Place the bobby pins behind or under the braid. 4. Braid the second section of hair all the way down to the end. 5. Bring the second braid over your head so that it covers the end of the first braid. Tuck the end of the second braid behind the first. 6. Pin down the braid so that it’s secure. 7. Use the bobby pins to tidy up any loose pieces of hair. And your done!

French Braid Headband:

1. Create a second part along the front of the hairline to create your band. For a tiny braid, section off 1-2 inches. For a bold braid, use 2 or more inches of hair. 2. For easier styling, clip remaining hair back. 3. Begin your basic braiding technique. Weave three pieces over and under each other. To avoid a cornrow look, make sure the pieces are big enough–each at least 1/3 the size of your second part. 4. Continue picking up new hair as you move along the head. Keep the weaving tight so the braid remains in the correct place–close to scalp and graizing the forehead.

This will keep the section tight and neat as you braid. Then, lightly spritz with hairspray. 3. After applying a smoothing cream or pomade, take a vertical section just behind the ear to create cornrows, going all the way around the head and securing the braid’s end with a clear elastic. 4.
