Monica and the Botkier Family
A weekly round-up of Botkier in the blogs, Link Love will keep you in the know on our favorite mentions of Botkier in the blogosphere.
WWD: Our friends at WWD break the news about our new NoLIta boutique.
Facebook: Preview our Spring 10 collection and tell us your favorite style.
Purse Blog: Megs dissects the denim trend. Included is our Trigger Moto Clutch!
Purse Blog Savvy: A few studs go a long way on the Harper Hobo, according to PB Savvy.
ShopTalk: Shopbop bloggers get the latest from Monica about the Michelle Satchel collaboration.
Should Zac Efron be fretting about Vanessa Hudgens’ long term relationship? Seems to us she’s completely devoted to her Morgan Satchel, the perfect complement to her California cool wardrobe. Vanessa was first spotted with bohemian chic Morgan in 2008 and it’s since become a mainstay.
One of my favorite projects this year has been teaming up with the super stylish accessory lover and good friend Michelle Trachtenberg to design the Michelle Satchel, benefiting the Oxfam charity. An organization close to our hearts, Oxfam works to fight poverty and injustice around the world. Collaborating with Michelle on the design process was such a treat. The true highlight of the collaboration is giving back to a charity we both feel passionate about. The bag is available exclusively via Shopbop and fifty percent of proceeds go directly to Oxfam. We recently celebrated the design project with an intimate dinner at Stanton Social with Shopbop, Oxfam, and close friends-here are a couple photos from the memorable evening.
Although it’s only January, we’re proud to say one of our goals for 2010 has been checked off the list: our flagship store opened on January 11th! After searching for the perfect location and space, we opened a boutique in New York’s chic NoLIta district. A few of our favorite neighbors thus far: Cafe Gitane for the impeccable avocado toast, Le Labo and their exquisite collection of perfumes, and McNally Jackson Books, a suitable spot for a good read. You’re invited to visit our NoLIta residence at 246 Mott (At Prince St.)
The space was designed in a collaboration between Monica and interior designer Valerie Pasquiou to exude a unique and edgy downtown sophistication. Together they chose a palette of warm grays, copper infused purples, sexy blacks and custom metallic accents to create a modern luxe atmosphere. Our new home will spotlight one of a kind collectors items (Hello, Snakeskin Bianca!) and will be the perfect spot to get to know the bags in person.
